Born and raised in Waterloo, I have always been artistically inspired by the people, places and things around me.  I studied Art History and Classical Studies at the University of Guelph and after years of cultivating my abilities I began creating works for family and friends.  Originally inspired by a love of charcoal and graphite works, I have expanded from portraiture drawings to multiple mediums.  Today I work mainly in scratchboard, creating bold black and white images of the world around me.  Driven by a focus of details and the power of shade, my works all share strong contrast and powerful depth.  Each creation is made by hand and inspired by the aesthetics of everyday objects and the world around me; my works reflect the simple fascination of places and things both natural and man-made.
